Grungy Palms

Got to work early this morning and I noticed a nice sky with a blazing sun behind these palms. I took out the iphone and framed it up so the sun was directly behind the tree on the right. It created some real intense contrast on the original. I then used Snapseed to apply a grunge effect and some texture. What makes these little apps (I also really like Hipstamatic), so much fun is their unpredictability. Now and then you get some pleasant surprises.

Beth - I like it. It like the paining-like texture it seems to have and the light-dark contrast of the trees coming out of nowhere.

Richard - Thanks Beth. Yep, the trees seem to be floating in a mist there. I think I got a little lucky with this one. But I’ll take it… :)
