I really do like this new lens. I usually don’t shoot many photos at 50mm since I’m a known wide angle HDR junkie, but this thing is a blast. I had the old f/1.8D and it’s a great lens for the money. This one though, has such smooth bokeh wide open it just has a completely different feel to it. My only complaint is the AF is just a little sluggish. It’s not a big deal though IMHO, since in very thin depth of field shots, you’ll probably end up tweaking focus manually anyway.
And here are a couple more. Took me a while to pull the trigger on buying this thing, but I’m real happy with it.
