Another one from Labor Day on the Santa Monica Pier. This is such a great place to wander around early in the morning. Later in the day? Not so much, at least for me. Everything just seems so much cleaner and quieter and prettier early in the day. I had to lighten up the sky quite a bit and I had to deal with the delicate parts of those lamp posts and the rigging on top of the building. So, I had to create a channel mask to just address the sky. There are tutorials out there on how to do that and I was going to just link to one, but some are not very clear explanations and some just plain leave out some essential steps, especially when dealing with tiny thin objects that need masking. I’ll have to create a tutorial on that sometime.
