Had a ton of rain here and then it cleared up. It looked like it might be a good sunset so I headed to the park in Santa Monica. It was great because it was almost empty. The downside was that the sunset didn’t materialize and I had to go to plan B. Plan B...  Maybe not a golden city but I really liked the way the afternoon light was glinting off these buildings in downtown L.A.  Well, not really much of a sunrise when you get right down to it. You can never predict when a good one will happen. And if you wait until it does, then it’s too late to get there. Your basic photography catch-22. So, I gambled on the observatory this morning. I think the foliage in the foreground gives it kind of a timeless look (apart from the street lights that is). These hillsides probably don’t look much different than they did back when this area was nothing more than a vast tar pool... |
