Monthly Archives: November 2011 My new 50mm lens has gotten me more interested in shooting people and the Santa Monica Pier is a great place to do that. I’m not all that comfortable doing it though. I was in a hurry here and I didn’t catch exactly what this guy was doing. He was painting little scenes or designs, but I’m not sure what they were for. Anyway, what caught my eye was the small crowd around his table and the light illuminating their faces.  So, I put on the 50mm and took a stroll down to Santa Monica Pier. The off-season is nice, because in the summer you can barely walk around out here… just too many people, especially on a Saturday night. Culver City has many little pockets of interesting architecture and this is one of them. The street where I found this place is lined with many eye-catching buildings and structures.
