I guess it’s human nature to take things for granted, but we need to remember the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice so we can live free. Enough said.  Had a ton of rain here and then it cleared up. It looked like it might be a good sunset so I headed to the park in Santa Monica. It was great because it was almost empty. The downside was that the sunset didn’t materialize and I had to go to plan B. Plan B...  Maybe not a golden city but I really liked the way the afternoon light was glinting off these buildings in downtown L.A.  Well, not really much of a sunrise when you get right down to it. You can never predict when a good one will happen. And if you wait until it does, then it’s too late to get there. Your basic photography catch-22. So, I gambled on the observatory this morning.
